Ghost Orchid visited by Giant Sphinx Moth
Powered by Max Banner Ads
On May 17, 2008 Misti and I finally caught the Giant Sphinx Moth (Cocyctius antaeus) on video visiting the Ghost Orchid (Dendrophylax lindenii). What makes this video so special is that this meeting between the Ghoost Orchid and Sphinx Moth pollinator had never been seen before, much less video taped. We hope you enjoy! Please visit www.GhostOrchid.info for more information.

I am almost positive that show was on a similar orchid and moth (but different species) located in Madagascar.

This is an absolutely amazing video. As an author, I have found the ghost orchid mesmerizing in all its unique beauty and mystery. I invite you to pick up a copy of Ghost Orchid at Corkscrew Sanctuary gift shop (all gift shop sales benefit Corkscrew) or at local B&N stores or online – and walk the Corkscrew Sanctuary boardwalk in search of your own mystical experience.

The sphinx moth is the hummingbird like animal. The ghost orchid is the flower hanging off the tree.
