how much should u water a phalaenopsis orchid?

I was given this orchid and I think im goin to kill it.I know u shouldnt over water it so I have been spraying its roots with water every now and then but I think its dieing on me!.help!

Give your Orchid a good watering once a week. (Good=some water running out the bottom.) You can easily do this in a sink with a trickle of water and let the plant drain there for about 5-10 min. after and place back in window.
