the care instructions say to add humidity by placing the pot in a dish with pebbles and water but dont let the plant sit in the water cause the roots will rot. so should i only leave the pot in the dish for a little while and then take it out?

Can I place african violets into orchid mix, and into the same pot with orchids (Phalaenopsis variety)? Any suggestions on how to make this work?

I have a very large pot overgrowing with orchids. I want to just break the pot in half……and transfer them in to two differents pots. Is that possible?
