If the stem is still green, don't cut it off. I water mine about
once a week, I use lukewarm water and let the bark soak
up as much water as it can inabout 20 minutes, I use a plastic bowl and
add a little orchid food in the water. Keep them misted
every day, and in a warm place with indirect
light. Sometimes the flower stem will produce another
set of buds and rebloom, sometimes the stem dries off
and dies, then you can cut it back. Right at the moment,
one of my orchids has an old green stem and is sending
out another stem with buds from another part of the plant-
so I am looking forward to more flowers soon.
